Diesel price at record high

Financially draining is now also possible while you fill up your diesel car. The price of a liter of diesel has reached a new record level. That’s according to data from United Consumers.

We are already used to it: extremely high fuel prices. The national suggested retail price (GLA) for a liter of E10 (Euro 95) has been fluctuating around €2.10 for a while. At the time of writing, the GLA of E10 is even €2,109. Data from United Consumers shows that the suggested retail price of a liter of diesel has also reached a new record level. The GLA of a liter of diesel is €1,772.

United Consumers sets the national suggested retail price for a gallon of fuel based on the prices of five major oil companies. High fuel prices are caused by increased demand for oil, but oil-producing countries aren’t pumping as much oil out of the ground as they could. The fact that the price of diesel continues to rise is partly due to freight traffic that has increased in recent times. In the Netherlands, the fuel price is largely made up of excise duties. For comparison, according to benzinpreis-aktuell.de you currently lose €1,693 for a liter of E10 in Germany. A liter of diesel costs an average of €1,625.
