Special 5-month project

Prince Bernhard van Oranje has a new toy: a DMC DeLorean with a 650 hp supercharged V8 that seems to be built for drifting. The car was rebuilt over a period of five months by Bas Koeten Racing, which shares the photos on Facebook.
Bas Koeten Racing is a company that usually cares about the racing cars of all kinds of private individuals, but now it has done something completely different on behalf of Prince Bernhard of Orange: it has converted a DMC DeLorean into a drift car. The DMC was expanded in an unsubtle way (see the front screens placed further out) and was fitted with a roll cage. We also see a decent lever on the center tunnel, which indicates the presence of a hydraulically operated handbrake, intended to throw a car across when entering a bend.
The car then crosses to hold? Then you have to step on the gas – and Bas Koeten has also arranged something to facilitate that. The car received a supercharged V8 (presumably a Chevrolet block) in its nose, a block that produces 650 hp and does not fit completely under the hood. That is why a hole has been cut in it. Normally there is a little sparkling six-cylinder in the back of a DMC DeLorean, but it has been removed.
Bas Koeten says on Facebook that the project is not yet completely finished, but that the first tests have been successful – as can be seen in the photos. We will be curious to see where and when Bernhard van Oranje wants to use the car when it is completely ready.
He does!
