watchOS 8 can be downloaded this fall
This fall, Apple will release a new Apple Watch, and watchOS 8 will also appear at the same time. The update was announced this month and before everyone can get started with it, two tests will be held.
watchOS 8 Developer Beta: Launched
Want to be the first to get started with watchOS 8? Then you need an Apple developer account. Makers of apps and software can already get started with the new Watch update.
Whether you should be jealous of this remains to be seen. It is a rough test version of watchOS 8 that is not intended for everyday use. Developers will be the first to get access to get their apps ready for the Watch update. That’s great, because this will make all your Apple Watch apps run like a charm.

watchOS 8 Public Beta: In July
Don’t have a developer account, but want to take a chance? Then you have to be patient until July. Apple is releasing the public beta of watchOS 8 this month, which, as you can tell from the name, is available to everyone.
The public test version is more stable than the beta that developers received, but can still contain errors. It is therefore not useful to put this beta on an Apple Watch that you need every day.
We don’t know exactly when the watchOS 8 public beta will be released. The public beta of watchOS 7 came out on August 10, 2020, and according to Apple, you don’t have to wait as long this time. The update will appear “sometime” in the month of July.
download watchOS 8: in September
September is a special month for Apple fans. Not only are new products announced during that period, but new software versions are also released. This year iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12 and therefore watchOS 8 are planned.
The new Watch update is installed by default on the Apple Watch Series 7. This successor to the Apple Watch Series 6 will be announced this fall during a (perhaps online) event where we will also see the iPhone 13.
watchOS 7 was officially available for download on September 16, and its predecessor, watchOS 6, was released on September 19. So you can probably download watchOS 8 in mid-September.
