DS 7 Crossback Louvre E-Tense is a mobile museum

DS has presented a special edition of the 7 Crossback. The richly equipped version is only available in combination with one of the two plug-in hybrid E-Tense powertrains that DS has on the price list of the 7 Crossback.

This is the DS 7 Crossback Louvre E-Tense, a mouthful. The special edition was created to celebrate the five-year collaboration between the Louvre in Paris and DS Automobiles. Sure, the DS 7 Crossback Louvre E-Tense is littered with a bunch of special Louvre badges, but there’s a lot more going on at the detail level.

DS carries the so-called DS Wings, the normally chrome-colored accents around the grille and under the headlights, as well as the window frame, the roof rails and the accents around the rear lights in black. The exterior mirror caps have an engraved pattern referring to the glass pyramids of the Louvre and the car is mounted on special 20-inch light alloy. The pattern of the French pyramid designed by Ieoh Ming Pei is also reflected in the interior, in the ventilation grilles and on the leather-finished flap of the storage compartment under the infotainment system.

Is there more? Hell yes. On the 12-inch infotainment system, 182 works of art can be viewed, each of which is accompanied by a podcast lasting several minutes. Buyers of the special edition automatically become ‘Ami du Louvre’. This means that you have unlimited access to the Louvre Museum, among others. The special edition is further based on the Grand Chic and Inspiration Art Basalt versions of the DS 7 Crossback, which means that Active Scan Suspension, Active Led Vision and things like heated and cool front seats with massage function are standard.

The DS 7 Crossback Louvre E-Tense is – its name already gives it away – only available in combination with one of the two plug-in hybrid E-Tense powertrains. That means you can go for a 300 hp four-wheel drive version, but you can also order the milder front-wheel drive 225 hp E-Tense plug-in hybrid. The latter costs € 63,890 as a Louvre edition, while the 300 hp version in Louvre trim costs € 68,890. Only 17 copies in total are coming to the Netherlands.
