The already digitally presented DS 9 is of course the big news from DS at the Geneva Motor Show, but it is certainly not the only one. The brand also conjures up this Aero Sport Lounge from the top hat!
The Aero Sport Lounge is a study model with an extravagant appearance that, according to its creators, must show, among other things, how you can “use the most modern technology ingeniously without sacrificing character and design.” With that technology, it seems to be a must. The 5 meter long Aero Sport Lounge has a particularly powerful electric power train.
DS gives its brand new study model, a dynamic-looking SUV, a 110 kWh battery pack. This concerns batteries processed in the bottom of the car that are good for a range of 650 kilometers on paper. To achieve that range, you should not approach the electric motor too harshly. The electric heart is 600 hp strong, good for a sprint from a standstill to 100 km / h in just 2.8 counts.
The Aero Sport Lounge, which stands on a 23-inch light metal, not only has a strongly sloping roof, but also a strikingly designed snout. Built from three LED parts and aggressively into the world in staring headlights, they flank a digital display that will have a place where the grille would normally be. Also striking are the ‘light strips’ that optically run downwards from the headlights. According to DS, this so-called ‘DS Light Veil’ reveals something of the new light signature that DS will apply in the future.
No concept car without a sensational interior, so the DS Aero Sport Lounge also gets a remarkable interior. Necessary information is projected for the driver and the entire infotainment system can not be operated with touch pads, but with voice inter alia. According to DS, the central armrest is able to “read, interpret and respond to hand movements.” The software includes an IRIS, artificial intelligence that you can talk to.
Because the use of ‘sustainable materials’ is also receiving increasing attention, DS also uses straw for the interior of the Aero Sport Lounge, material that is used in the seats, among other things.
