Ducati 2026 Monster: next in line with the new V2

Ducati unveils the fifth generation of the iconic Monster, a naked bike that combines classic charm, uncompromising performance and modern technology in a compact, lightweight and exceptionally agile motorcycle.

Ducati 2026 Monster: next in line with the new V2

The Ducati Monster has been an icon in the world of naked bikes since 1992. When the model debuted at the Cologne Motor Show, it changed the perception of what a sporty naked bike could be. The simplicity of the concept – “everything you need, nothing more” – immediately caught on with motorcyclists worldwide and laid the foundation for a community of enthusiastic Monsteristi. With the introduction of the 2026 Monster, Ducati is writing a new chapter in this unmistakable story, in which traditional design and modern technology go hand in hand.

The design of the new Monster is a fresh interpretation of the classic lines, but with a modern twist. The compact, sporty shapes refer to the first model from 1992, with the characteristic bison-back tank, short, light rear and the single saddle. The front is dominated by a full-LED headlight with double ‘C’ shape and two cut-out side pieces that give a subtle nod to the Panigale V4. Ergonomics have been improved with a 5mm lower seat (815mm), giving riders easier access to the ground and efficiently removing hot air from the radiator for greater comfort.

Under the tank is the new Ducati V2 twin. Thanks to modern IVT (Intake Variable Timing) timing, the engine delivers smooth power at low revs, smooth power at mid-range and impressive performance at high revs, with a peak power of 111 hp at 9,000 rpm (110.7 hp / 81.4 kW for the US version). The engine is also 5.9 kg lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione and has record-long maintenance intervals of 45,000 km/28,000 miles for valve clearance, ensuring low operating costs and a trouble-free driving experience.

The engine acts as a load-bearing component of the new monocoque chassis, combined with a double swingarm inspired by the Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm of the Panigale V4 and a trellis rear frame in technopolymer. This contributes to a total weight of only 175 kg (tank empty), keeping the Monster extremely agile. The Showa 43mm upside-down fork and monoshock are tuned for a perfect balance between comfort and sporty performance.

The Brembo brake package with twin 320mm front discs and M4.32 radial calipers offers progressive initial bite and consistent braking power, while the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires (120/70 and 180/55) guarantee maximum grip and safety on the road. The compact saddle, higher handlebars and narrow side panels provide natural control and a comfortable riding position, both in the city and on winding roads.

Electronics play a key role: four Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Urban and others) adapt performance to riding style and conditions. The Monster remains sporty and powerful in Sport Mode, while Road and Urban Modes make it easier for less experienced riders or city use. Ducati’s 6-axis IMU and extensive electronics manage traction control, wheelie control, engine braking and cornering ABS for a safe and enjoyable riding experience. Everything is controlled via a petal-shaped joystick and 5-inch TFT display, compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation.

For those who want a personal touch, Ducati Performance offers a wide range of accessories, from carbon fiber and billet aluminum to a sports saddle with Alcantara upholstery. Termignoni-approved exhausts with titanium interior and carbon end cap increase the character of the Monster, reduce its weight (-0.2 kg) and provide a raw, sporty sound that matches the iconic image of the naked bike.

The Ducati Monster 2026 is a bike that redefines the core of the naked bike: lightweight, agile, powerful and intuitive, with a design that both respects its iconic predecessors and looks ahead to the future. For the Monsteristi, this is no ordinary motorcycle; it’s a statement, a heritage and a fun, safe driving experience all in one.

With the new V2, advanced chassis structure and well-thought-out electronics, the Monster 2026 is both a motorcycle for everyday use and a sporting challenge on winding roads, with which Ducati once again proves that simplicity and innovation go together perfectly.

The new Monster will arrive at European dealers in February 2026 and is available in two color schemes (Ducati Red and Iceberg White) and in two versions, the Monster and Monster+, the latter of which is equipped with a passenger seat cover and fairing window. Both are available in a 35 kW version for all motorcyclists with an A2 driving license.
