The V-twin version of the Streetfighter is back. Ducati has expanded the Streetfighter family at the bottom with the Streetfighter V2, the two-cylinder version of the V4 that, strictly speaking, can also be seen as the successor of the Streetfighter 1098, which has been defunct for a while.
The design of the V4, but equipped with the V-twin block of the Panigale V2, is how the new Streetfighter V2 can best be described in a few words. The only difference between the two is the absence of the winglets on the side of the radiator and if you ask us that just makes it more attractive.
The Streetfighter V2 is powered by the well-known 955 cc Superquadro V-twin, good for 153 hp at 10,750 rpm and maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm. Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 model has a shorter final drive of 15/45 vs 15/43, allowing for faster pick-up.
As far as the bicycle part is concerned, Ducati has used the same monocoque frame as the Panigale V2, with the block as a load-bearing part in the construction, but in combination with a 16 mm longer swingarm to give the bike more stability. The 43 mm Showa BPF upside-down fork and the Sachs monoshock have also been modified to give the bike a little more comfort on public roads.
The Streetfighter V2 is fitted with 5-spoke wheels and the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires: 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear. Apart from the chosen brake pads, which are characterized by a less aggressive grip and thus more suitable for road use, the entire braking system is identical to the Panigale V2 and is fitted with Brembo M4.32 Monobloc radial calipers with 320 mm diameter discs.
The extensive electronics of the Streetfighter V2 also come from the Panigale V2. The 6-axis IMU manages all of the motorcycle’s electronic controls and relays the motorcycle’s position in space in real time, relaying the information to the control units that manage the controls.
The electronic package includes: ABS Cornering EVO with “slide by brake” functionality, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC ) EVO.
The Streetfighter V2 has three different Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Wet) with special control settings. The electronic equipment can be extended with a range of accessories from the Ducati Performance catalogue: Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA + GPS) and Ducati Multimedia System.
The bike features full-LED headlights with DRL at the front and a 4.3″ full-TFT dashboard with an intuitive interface that Ducati says is reminiscent of the Streetfighter V4 family feel.
The Streetfighter V2 will be available from January 2022 at the official Ducati dealers in the color Ducati Red with black rims for 16,990 Euro in Belgium and 18,990 Euro in the Netherlands.
