The Dutchman Roelant de Waard will resign from his position at Ford Europe at the end of this year. The 59-year-old is currently the CEO of Ford’s European passenger car branch, but is retiring.
Roelant de Waard took up his current position in June 2019, after an extensive career within Ford. De Waard, who was born in Oegstgeest, started working for the brand in 1990 and moved to Dearborn in the United States in 1996, where he became manager of the marketing strategy. In 1999 De Waard returned to the Netherlands and became director of Ford Netherlands. In 2002 he started working for Ford Europe, where he held several top positions. He became Vice President of Sales in 2009, before moving to his current position in 2019.
De Waard has now decided to retire. He will remain in his current position exactly until the end of the year, December 31. Stuart Rowley, general president of Ford Europe, thanks De Waard for his work. Particularly for the past few years, during which time under his leadership the electrification of Ford’s passenger car range has been accelerated.
