Electric Abarth 500e leaked

The Abarth 500e, which will be presented on November 22, is already leaking onto the internet. Instagram user carzturbo ran into it when press material was shot from the car in an Italian city. The Abarth differs all around from its Fiat brother, but it is not surprising.

Just yesterday, Abarth uploaded a first teaser of the upcoming Abarth 500e, the sportier brother of the Fiat 500e. Only a front wheel was visible on it. A day later we already know more about its appearance, as an observant passer-by snapped some photos of the new Abarth while it was presumably captured for promotional material from Abarth itself.

Because we don’t learn anything new about the Abarth, we only take you along what can be seen in the photos. First impression: the external differences with the Fiat 500e are quite small. At the front we see the same hood with an Abarth logo on which the Fiat does not have a brand emblem, and in it the elements that make the headlights optically round. Those parts seem darker than with the Fiat.

less sweet

A little further down we see a new front bumper with the holes that we could already see earlier. That bumper is less ‘sweet’ drawn than that of the Fiat. The latter has ascending lines at the ends of the air vents, where they run downwards in the Abarth seen from the center of the car. At the bottom of the front we see a contrasting ‘lip’ and between the bumper and hood is ‘Abarth’, where the Fiat houses two chrome strips with the indication ‘500’.

On the side we see no difference on the stickers and the wheels, although we suspect that the Abarth is slightly closer to the asphalt than the Fiat. The back put carzturbo not in the photo, but it does appear in a video he made – hence the poor quality. There, too, the differences with the Fiat seem small, although we detect a line in the rear bumper that we did not see before. That should undoubtedly create the illusion that the fast electric city rascal has something of a diffuser. It does have a bigger spoiler.
