The first Stellantis Alpha

Alfa Romeo enthusiasts can put a big red circle on April 10 on the calendar. That is the day on which the brand new and electric Alfa Romeo Milano is presented.
Alfa Romeo proudly reports that it has started testing the Alfa Romeo Milano at the Balocco circuit. The Milano becomes a very important model for Alfa Romeo. It will be the brand’s first electric volume model and also in a quite popular segment: compact crossovers. Alfa Romeo indicates that it will present the Milano on April 10 and immediately shows a set of photos of a wrapped prototype.

Our digital preview of the Milano…
Those plates of the camouflaged Alfa Romeo Milano confirm that AutoWeek’s digital preview of the compact electric Alfa Romeo is quite accurate. The digital drawings we presented to you at the time were not based on air, but on leaked images of the car. At the time it turned out to really be leaked records from the Milano.
Unlike the Tonale – which was still developed under FCA – the Alfa Romeo Milano is a real Stellantis product. It will essentially be Alfa Romeo’s version of cars like the Peugeot (e-)2008, DS 3 Crossback, Opel Mokka, Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600e and Citroën C4. Of course, this does not mean that the cars are one-to-one interchangeable, but it does mean that you will find similar technology in them. The Milano will also be available as a 136 hp mild hybrid. There will also be an electric four-wheel drive version with – expectedly – 240 hp. Indeed, just like the Abarth 600e and Lancia Ypsilon HF.
The Alfa Romeo Milano should soon account for about 40 percent of Alfa sales in Europe. The Milano – together with the 33 Stradale – does not remain the only electric Alfa Romeo. For example, Alfa Romeo is working on a B-segmenter that is not a crossover. This will therefore be a brother of cars such as the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa and the yet to be unveiled Lancia Ypsilon. The brand also has an electric successor to the Giulia in the pipeline.
