More than pure speed
From 2027, Alfa Romeo will only sell fully electric models. And the mighty Quadrifoglio label that you now know from the shrill and thick 500 hp strong V6s? That survives the transition to the EV dimension. And how. Electric Alfa’s Quadrifoglio are up to no less than 1,000 hp strong.
You currently know Alfa Romeo’s Quadrifoglio label from the Giulia and Stelvio. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio have recently both had a powerful 520 hp 2.9 V6 with two turbos as power plant. Lovers of the green four-leaf clover need not worry that their beloved label will disappear when Alfa Romeo switches to selling only fully electric cars in 2027. The Q label will continue to exist and certainly not in a weakened form.
The Australian Carsales has spoken with Alfa CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato. According to Imparato, almost all future electric Alfa Romeos will have a Quadrifoglio version. According to the CEO, those electric Q models can charge faster and wirelessly, but they also become beastly strong. The CEO indicates that the electric Quadrifolios will be around 900 to 1,000 horsepower. With such a huge amount of electrical power on board, the electric Alfa’s Quadrifoglio will undoubtedly become very fast in a straight line, but the brand is looking for another feature to bring the sporty EVs to the attention. 0-100 times and Nürburgring records would not be the right things to promote the cars according to Imparato. Possibly the Alfa Romeo CEO is trying to absorb the effect of the undoubtedly considerable car weight of the electric Q models.
