Atlis, an American start-up that wants to enter the growing market for electric pick-ups with the electrically powered XT, has taken another look at the XT. That while the revelation is yet to come.
Pick-ups are still available in the United States booming business and more and more parties see a gap in the market when it comes to electrically powered alternatives. Think of the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer. Arizona-based Atlis is happy to follow up on this story and has had the XT in the delivery rooms since the beginning of 2019, a fantastic pick-up with a striking appearance. A bit too striking, it seems, because especially the front of the XT has been refined before it appears on the market next year.
There’s no arguing about taste, but Atlis has at least found a special combination of classic lines and idiosyncratic creativity. It looks robust and the figures that Atlis promises reflect that. Atlis speaks of a 0-60 mph time of 5 seconds, a maximum towing weight of up to 15,875 kilos (with a fifth wheel) and a payload of 2,268 kilos. Depending on the version you choose, of course. The range of action the company promises is particularly interesting. Minimum 480 km and maximum 800 km (EPA), again depending on the chosen variant. You can also opt for a loading floor or an open chassis for your own construction behind the double cabin. It is not clear whether the interior has also been overhauled. This also looked promising in previous photos (see below).
Next year, the Atlis XT should enter the local market. Atlis promises a starting price of $ 45,000, or more than € 37,000. You bet that the price rises nicely if you want to get the most out of the XT, but basically it is relatively cheap. Whether the newcomers can make it all happen remains to be seen. It is interesting nonetheless.
