Audi is preparing for the arrival of two very important electric cars. The electric Audi A6 E-tron and Audi A8 E-tron will appear next year.

While BMW and especially Mercedes-Benz in the higher segments are already doing well with electric cars, things remain relatively quiet at Audi. The pressure is now quite on in Ingolstadt, but we don’t have to wait very long for an answer to cars like the EQE and EQS. Next year we will be introduced to the Audi A6 E-tron, the British understands Coach from Audi. That electric A6 counterpart was recently spotted – albeit firmly camouflaged. Count on it still being quite similar to the concept car of the same name. There will also be an A6 E-tron Avant and that will give Audi something special. After all, there is no station wagon version of the EQE and there is still no sign of life from the BMW i5 Touring.

It does not stop with the A6 E-tron, because there will also be an Audi A8 E-tron. We already received a harbinger of this in September 2021 in the form of the Grandsphere Concept. Audi’s chief designer Marc Lichte explains Coach that the A8 E-tron remains pretty true to that Grandsphere Concept in terms of design. “The Grandsphere is a very concrete harbinger, which is not far from the production version. It will not be exactly the same, but it is very close.” The curtain will come off in 2024. The Audi A8 E-tron competes with the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW i7 and – like the A6 E-tron – is based on the PPE platform developed together with Porsche. The Audi Q6 E-tron will also appear on that basis, which will be unveiled this year. The PPE platform enables payloads of more than 270 kW and a driving range of more than 700 km. So very promising.
