Electric BMW i5 Touring can now be seen

BMW will pull the curtains off the brand new i5 Touring relatively soon. Unfortunately for BMW, the first photos of the BMW i5 Touring have already ended up on the internet.

BMW itself is still busy warming up for the arrival of the i5 Touring. The BMW i5 Touring is the fully electrically powered version of the new 5-series Touring, which has yet to be unveiled. The first photos of the BMW i5 Touring have already ended up on the virtual highway via Wilco Blok’s Instagram account.

Let’s be honest: no one will be shocked after seeing these photos. AutoWeek showed the BMW i5 Touring in patent images from all angles in October last year. The BMW i5 Touring that can be seen in these new photos fits in perfectly with this optically.

Up to and including the B-pillar, the i5 Touring – and therefore also the 5-series Touring – is completely 5-series. The rear lights are slightly different from those of the 5-series/i5 in sedan form. While the rear lights on the four-door 5-series and i5 optically slope towards the sides, on the Touring they rise upwards. The shoulder line is also striking. It increases more strongly towards the rear than with any other 5-series Touring.

The BMW i5 Sedan has already been presented as an eDrive40 and as an M60 xDrive. The first produces 340 hp and has an 81.2 kWh battery. This combination helps the i5 Sedan have a range of up to 582 kilometers. The M60 xDrive also has the 81.2 kWh battery, but has two electric motors that together produce 601 hp. It sprints from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Its range: up to 516 kilometers.
