Also for Europe?

The day you knew was coming is finally here: even the Cadillac Escalade is going electric. The fully electric Cadillac Escalade IQ logically comes in addition to the regular Escalade.
The fact that General Motors does not hesitate to also provide the ‘sacred’ models with an electric powertrain for fuel-loving Americans was already apparent a few years ago when it revived the Hummer as an EV. Now the Cadillac Escalade also has to believe it. A car that to date actually embodies exactly what climate activists dislike.
Cadillac announces that the Cadillac Escalade IQ will be closed later this year. It will be the third model in Cadillac’s ‘IQ series’, following the Celestiq and Lyriq. Where those models intended from the outset as EV have the ‘IQ’ part in their model name, Cadillac simply sticks it behind it with the Escalade. However, that doesn’t mean the Escalade IQ will simply be the current Escalade with an electric powertrain. No, count on a top SUV developed from the ground up as an EV on GM’s Ultium platform. It will therefore be more a relative of the electric flagship Celestiq than of the Escalade, which is available with fuel engines.
Incidentally, we can expect two other electric Cadillacs in the foreseeable future: earlier this year, Cadillac announced that three more EVs will appear in addition to the Celestiq and Lyriq until 2024. After the Escalade IQ, two more to go, so.
Cadillac Escalade for Europe?
General Motors is planning a return to Europe with electric models from Cadillac, among others. In that light, the arrival of the electric Cadillac Escalade IQ is interesting, because it may eventually also come here. With the Cadillac Celestiq, the Americans could launch an attack on the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW i7, while the Cadillac Escalade IQ could possibly be marketed as an alternative to the Mercedes-Benz EQS.
