Like countless other electric models from brands such as Stellantis, the electric Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X also get a new electric powertrain. The two will get a more powerful electric motor and a new battery pack. All this not only gives the two EVs more power, but also a considerably larger range.
Just like the Peugeot e-2008 and the e-208, DS 3 and Opel Mokka Electric before, the electric Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X now get a new powertrain, with a more powerful and above all more efficient electric motor and a new battery pack. The result is a significantly increased range of up to 420 kilometers.
In the Netherlands, the Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X have always had a 136-hp electric motor and a 50-kWh battery. The ë-C4 squeezed out a range of 356 kilometers there, the ë-C4 X came a little further with 360 kilometers thanks to its more aerodynamic design. The two now get a more potent electric motor that is also much more economical with its energy. The 156 hp and 260 Nm strong electric motor draws its energy from a significantly improved battery pack that now measures 54 kWh. Depending on the chosen version, the Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X can travel up to 421 kilometers. Even the version on the largest alloy wheels has a range of 415 kilometers. Fast charging is possible up to 100 kW. A heat pump is standard, as are 18-inch wheels with tires that offer extra low rolling resistance.
Will all electric C4s get this new powertrain? No, not yet. The Live, Feel and Feel Pack retain their 136-hp electric motor and 50-kWh battery. The highest positioned version – the Shine – will immediately receive the new 156 hp powertrain. Prices and information regarding the Dutch market will follow soon. Unlike the Peugeot e-2008, the arrival of the new powertrain is not accompanied by a facelift.
