Electric Jeep Wrangler Magneto Concept in pictures

In 2021, Lamborghini has an SUV in the range, the Land Rover Defender is available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and we come across the Mustang name on an electric SUV. That there are even more sacred houses can be kicked, Jeep proves later this year. The brand comes with a study model of an electric Wrangler, a car of which it has now very likely released a new teaser.

Every year in Moab, Utah, the Jeep Safari takes place, a party full of Jeep fanatics where Jeep traditionally presents novelties. One of those novelties comes this year in the form of a harbinger of a fully electric version of the Wrangler. Jeep is now releasing two teaser plates, one of which features a model called ‘Magneto’. Most likely, this concerns the electric concept car.

It is not yet certain that the Wrangler Mangeto Concept is actually the forerunner of the electric Wrangler. Jeep talks about the arrival of ‘powerful concept cars’, so in theory it is possible that the Magneto is an extra sporty or powerful version of the Wrangler. The fact that the bonnet matches that of the Wrangler 392 partly gives rise to that suggestion. However, the name Magneto fits perfectly with a car with an electric powertrain. For the time being, we are therefore aiming for the Wrangler EV. Jeep also takes an apparently fiercely dressed orange-colored Wrangler with it.

Jeep Wrangler ‘BEV’ teaser

An earlier teaser record of the Wrangler already showed that the electric Jeep Wrangler, which is currently in the pipeline, will simply keep its ladder chassis and that the battery pack will be placed in two parts on either side of the drive shaft. The electric motor gets a place under the hood, which is quite striking. That means that Jeep does not choose to give the electric Wrangler an electric motor in each wheel. The Jeep Safari will take place between March 27 and April 4, around that time we expect to be able to report more about the electric Wrangler.
