Fear sweats for Macan?
Maserati will only sell electric cars from 2030. An electric version of the new GranTurismo will be Maserati’s first EV, but certainly not the last. The brand new Grecale also comes with an electric Folgore variant!
Recently, Maserati released the first clear images of the GranTurismo Folgore, an all-electric variant of the upcoming new GranTurismo. Those photos went hand in hand with an interesting announcement. From 2025, Maserati will also have a version with an electric powertrain of every car it delivers, and from 2030 it will be completely over and out for the combustion engine. Maserati will soon be pulling the curtain on the Grecale, a new SUV that will get a place one step below the Levante in the Maserati pecking order. The above also means that there will be an electric Folgore version of the Grecale. It’s that Maserati Grecale Folgore that we can already show you on a new set of spy records.
Maserati Grecale Folgore
Technical specifications of the Grecale Folgore in these photos are not yet known, but there is no doubt that it is an EV. The car has the same camouflage print as the GranTurismo Folgore visible in the photos and is equipped with the well-known warning stickers that you often see on an electric test model. Not convinced yet? Then take a look at the back of this Grecale, because exhaust tailpipes shine because of their absence.
The 4.85 meter long Grecale – which is about 15 centimeters shorter than the Levante but about as much longer than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio – will probably first come on the market with combustion engines. We already know that the car will be available with a 300 hp and 450 Nm mild-hybrid 2.0. You can also count on the arrival of a sportier Trofeo-like version.
