Electric Mercedes-Benz eVito takes a longer breath

The Mercedes-Benz eVito is the electric version of the Vito, the commercial vehicle version of the V-class. Mercedes-Benz sells an electric passenger car version of the V-class that listens to the name EQV and also has an electrically powered variant of the Vito aimed at passenger transport, which listens to the name eVito Tourer. The eVito Tourer now has a battery pack with a capacity of 90 kWh and now Mercedes-Benz is also improving the electric lung capacity of the eVito order version.

Until now, the Mercedes-Benz eVito had to make do with a 41.4 kWh battery, which the electric commercial vehicle – depending on the version chosen – could cover 149 to 160 kilometers. The new eVito will have a larger battery pack with a net capacity of 60 kWh. The Mercedes-Benz eVito squeezes out up to 280 kilometers of range there. The electric motor has also been tightened up. The electric motors in the eVito now deliver a peak power of 116 hp and 360 Nm instead of 114 hp and 300 Nm.

The charging port of the eVito in van trim is no longer located in the side of the bus, but is now housed on the left-hand side of the front bumper. The eVito can be charged with fresh power on a DC charger with a maximum charging capacity of 80 kW, which means that the battery can be fully charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 35 minutes. Previously, the eVito could only be considered with an AC charger (maximum 11 kW).

Mercedes-Benz supplies the electric eVito Closed Order as a 5.14 and as a 5.37 long variant. The loading volume of the first is 6 cubic meters, the longer version swallows 6.6 cubic meters. The maximum payload of the ‘short’ eVito is 890 kilos, with the extra long version you have to settle for 860 kilos. The starting price of the renewed Mercedes-Benz eVito is set at €45,725 (excluding VAT and bpm). The renewed eVito can be ordered immediately, the first copies will be delivered in mid-March 2022.
