Mini Aceman

Later this month, Auto China will open its gates in Beijing and that means you can count on a lot of news. This also includes newcomers that are relevant to the European market, including the Mini Aceman and the updated BMW i4.

BMW Group reports that it will not only present the facelifted version of the electric BMW i4 during Auto China, but that it will also present a completely new model. That’s not a BMW, but a Mini: the Aceman. Unfortunately for Mini, the Aceman has few external secrets. The first photos of the car previously appeared online, pictures that went hand in hand with the first information. However, a final unveiling will entail much more technical information, so the actual presentation of the Aceman will certainly still have news value. In addition, the Mini Aceman is a quite relevant model for Europe.

The Mini Aceman, which, like the completely new Mini Cooper – not the facelifted old Mini – is only available with electric powertrains, is considerably smaller than Mini’s existing crossover: the Countryman. While the Mini Countryman grew in length to no less than 4.43 meters in its last generation, the Aceman is no less than 35 centimeters shorter. It is 4.08 meters long. Fun fact: this makes the Aceman almost as long as the very first generation of the Countryman that debuted 14 years ago.

Other news from the BMW Group comes from BMW itself. This is the facelifted i4 that is being presented to the light of day in Beijing. The i4 – the electric variant of the 4-series Gran Coupé – gets, just like its non-electric brothers, a subtly updated front and a modestly updated rear. You don’t have to count on major exterior changes, but you do need to expect a major engine version. BMW has a pleasantly crazy top version of the i4, equipped with no fewer than four electric motors, in the development rooms. Don’t be surprised if that powerhouse produces around 1,000 hp, just like cars like the Porsche Taycan GT. We will know more on April 24 and 25 when the BMW Group Night press conferences and press conferences take place.
