The all-electric Nissan Ariya will be launched next year. AutoWeek can now report the first prices of Nissan’s second EV. You can get in for under 50 grand, but the price quickly rises for the more expensive variants.
Nissan already announced the Ariya halfway through last year. The electric SUV will sit next to the Qashqai and will be on a completely new EV platform from Nissan. It will be available in five versions with both front and four-wheel drive. Nissan therefore opts for a different approach than Volkswagen, which offers the ID4 only with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. The entry-level version of the Ariya has an electric motor mounted on the front axle that produces 218 hp and 300 Nm of torque. That power source is fed by a battery pack with a capacity of 63 kWh and is therefore good for a range of 360 kilometers. This version has a starting price of €47,390.
At the other end of the spectrum is the Performance version with the ‘e-4ORCE’ four-wheel drive. This version also has an electric motor on the rear axle, is 394 hp and 600 Nm strong and can travel 400 kilometers with its 87 kWh battery pack. The four-wheel drive Ariya’s do not get as far with that battery capacity than the Ariya 87 kWh Evolve with only front-wheel drive. It can cover a maximum of 500 kilometers on one battery charge. It is also striking that the versions with 87 kWh get a 22 kW on-board charger, where the less favored battery has to make do with 7.4 kW.
The Nissan Ariya will be in the showroom around the end of May/beginning of June. Nissan also announced an all-wheel drive Ariya last year with a battery capacity of 63 kWh and an output of 279 hp and 560 Nm, with a range of 340 kilometers. Nissan does not state the price of this variant for the time being.
