Polestar is finally releasing what the electric Polestar 4 will cost in the Netherlands. It has a starting price of about 65 grand and offers an electric range of 610 kilometers for that money. In terms of size and price, the Polestar 4 fills the gap between the Polestar 2 and the Polestar 3.
Don’t let his name fool you. The Polestar 4 is neither larger nor more expensive than the Polestar 3. The model name does not indicate the model’s place in the hierarchy, but indicates that it is the fourth model that the brand has unveiled. In terms of dimensions and pricing, the 4 falls between 2 and 3. The starting price in the Netherlands is €64,800. AutoWeek could already tell you in October what the 4 would approximately cost in the Netherlands.
For just under €65,000, Polestar puts the keys to the Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor in your hands. It has a single 272 hp and 343 Nm strong electric motor that drives the rear axle. That couple is interesting. The Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor (from €51,200) is also 272 hp, but produces 490 Nm. In any case: the entry-level 4 is by no means slow. It zooms to a speed of 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h. In the bottom is a 100-kWh 400v battery, a copy with a usable capacity of 94 kWh. Both the 2 and 4 are not available with this size battery. The Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor should have a range of 610 kilometers on a full battery.
For more electric fun, Polestar has created the Long Range Dual Motor for the 4. It also has the 100-kWh (94-kWh net) battery, although in this case it powers two electric motors that together produce 544 hp and 686 Nm. It won’t surprise you that this variant is a lot faster. From a standstill, the car reaches 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed is the same as that of the Long Range with a single electric motor. The range is also a very usable 580 kilometers. Fast charging is possible with both engine versions with up to 200 kW.

Sizes and weights
No 4 is a lightweight. For example, the Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor weighs 2,230 kilos and the Long Range Dual Motor version weighs 2,355 kilos. The luggage compartment of both engine versions is 526 liters. With the rear seats folded down, you can store 1,536 liters in the 4. Under the front cover there is a so-called frunk with a capacity of 15 liters. The 4 is 4.84 meters long, 2.14 meters wide (including mirrors) and 1.53 meters high. Its wheelbase is just under 3 meters. For comparison: the 2 is 4.6 meters long (-14 centimeters), 1.99 meters wide including mirrors (-15 centimeters) and 1.78 meters high (-5 centimeters). The wheelbase of the 2 is also almost 26 centimeters smaller at 2.74 meters. The Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor can tow up to 1,500 kilos, the Polestar 4 Long Range Dual Motor can handle 500 kilos more.
