BMW has pulled out all the stops in recent years to keep its models as current as possible. The brand regularly implements technical updates to its models and it is the rule rather than the exception that a model undergoes the so-called LCI treatment about three years after its introduction. The renewed X4 can be seen for the first time on this set of spy plates.
The current second generation of BMW’s X4 has been with us since early 2018. Although the coupé-SUV based on the X3 is only 2.5 years old, according to BMW that age is high enough for a so-called Life Cycle Impulse (LCI). So a facelift.
The front and back of the new X4, which can be seen in these photos, are lavishly covered with concealing camouflage material, but some of the renewed design can already be seen. For example, the new X4 gets new headlights, copies that seem to be wider than the current units. BMW will undoubtedly give the X4 new bumpers at both the front and rear and the brand is taking the X4’s grille in hand. It is not yet entirely clear whether the kidney grille is growing a size, but given BMW’s predilection for huge pieces of fencing, that is certainly possible. The dent on the passenger’s door on this packed copy has to be taken away by the way. In the interior, the adjustments will probably be limited to the arrival of a renewed infotainment system and new materials.

BMW X4 (2018 – present)
The X3 with which the X4 shares its base will also be under the knife in the short term. You can read more about this here.
