Facelift for Cadillac CT5

The Cadillac CT5 introduced in 2019 is getting a facelift. The American luxury sedan gets a heavily modified nose and a modernized interior.

The Cadillac CT5 can be seen as a competitor for cars like the BMW 5 Series and Lexus ES. The first and so far only generation of the model was launched in 2019 as a (more or less) successor to the CTS. The model is not very old, but a freshening up can’t hurt. This especially applied to the interior, which now actually looks quite old-fashioned. Cadillac solves this in one fell swoop by replacing the instruments and touchscreen with one combined 33-inch screen. An Android Automotive-based infotainment system provides all the digital conveniences imaginable. In addition, Cadillac provides more standard driver assistance and safety systems.

On the outside, the nose is particularly noticeable. The daytime running lights have always been vertically oriented, but this now actually applies to almost the entire headlight. The light unit therefore flows almost seamlessly into the opening directly below it and the central grille is also new.

Nothing changes at all at the rear, unless you order one of the new exterior colors. That is of course not possible in Europe, because the CT5 is not officially for sale here. For the drive, North American buyers can choose from a two-liter four-cylinder turbo with 237 American ‘hp’ and a double-blown three-liter V6 with 335 ‘horsepower’. All-wheel drive is optionally available.
