Chevrolet refreshes the Blazer presented in 2018. The SUV has been subtly modified inside and out, has a new four-cylinder turbo engine and customers get more personalization options. Like the other Chevrolet models, the Blazer will not come to Europe.
The renewed Blazer, which competes in the US against the Ford Edge, among other things, can first be recognized by its headlights. The daytime running lights now continue in the upper part of the grille, while the actual headlights below are now a lot slimmer in shape. The Blazer’s LED taillights also have a different layout. The facelifted Blazer rolls on new 18-, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels and is available in a number of new colours: ‘Fountain Blue’, ‘Sterling Gray’, ‘Copper Bronze’ and ‘Radiant Red Tintcoat’.
In the interior, the Blazer gets a new 10-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Wireless charging is now also available on all models. The RS version gets a new interior color with the flashy name ‘Nightshift Blue’. Chevrolet also introduces a new engine for the Blazer: a 2.0 four-cylinder turbo with 231 hp. Previously, that was a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 193 American horsepower. The other available engine is a 3.6 V6, which was also available in the pre-facelift. That gets a slight power increase to 312 hp. Both engines come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Blazer comes standard with front-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive optional.
Chevrolet will start selling the refreshed Blazer in the summer. In Europe, we should not expect the model, since Chevrolet withdrew here in 2015. The only model coming to our continent is the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
