Honda has released the first images of the updated Odyssey. The ballroom of an MPV will soon be presented to the world in its entirety.
Do we remember the Odyssey? The first generation of the MPV was sold as a Shuttle in the Netherlands between 1994 and 1998, although we would not see the car again afterwards. After the retirement of the first generation, the Odyssey split into a line for the ‘international market’ and one for the Japanese home market. In March this year, the American variant was facelifted and now Honda is showing how the updated international variant is being designed.
Honda does not seem to be in a hurry to replace the international variant of the Odyssey. Where the American version was helped to a completely new generation in 2017, the version sold in countries such as Japan and China has been running since 2013 (photos 4 to 7). These images already show the Absolute version of the renewed Odyssey, the updated version of the most luxurious version in which the Odyssey is available. The thick 4.8 meter long MPV gets a completely new snout. The MPV has a completely new, wider grille, new headlight units and a completely new front bumper.
Honda Odyssey, 2020
The image of the renewed interior shows that Honda gives the Odyssey a new display that belongs to the infotainment system. Where the current copy is integrated in the dashboard, the new screen more or less protrudes from the cockpit. Honda also gives the MPV new ventilation grilles, air vents that are now mounted in a wide strip lower in the dashboard. We also see a new fully digital instrumentation behind the renewed steering wheel. The Odyssey will be available with a new piece of hardware with which the sliding doors can be opened by moving your hand over a designated sensor. Later this month more about the new Odyssey, an MPV that has to compete against Asian castles in the air such as the Kia Carnival / Sedona, Nissan Serena and Toyota Alphard / Vellfire.
