Jeep is about to make a facelift on the Grand Commander, a relatively unknown model that Jeep only sells in China. The Grand Commander is now about three years old and will be updated on both front and rear during its by-point session.
Jeep and its Chinese partner GAC pulled the curtain on the production version of the Yuntu Concept in 2018. That new SUV was named Grand Commander and is a special case. Despite the fact that the car shares most of its technology with the well-known Cherokee, the Grand Commander is a lot bigger. The 4.87 meter long Grand Commander wins in length with about 23 centimeters from that more compact SUV. The Grand Commander is shorter than the outgoing Grand Cherokee (4.82 meters), but considerably shorter than its 5 meter long yet to be presented successor and the already unveiled 5.2 meter long Grand Cherokee L. De Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are well above it with their 5.45 meters.

Back to the Grand Commander. That model was already topped with the sleeker Jeep design in 2018 (photos 7 and 8) that was later poured out over the above-mentioned models. The renewed Grand Commander, the photos of which we have surfaced from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Transport, will get a completely new front bumper, although the seven-segment grille is of course retained. However, Jeep mounts larger headlights on either side of it, which have to do without the small offshoot. At the rear, the changes are more radical. Just like its younger American brothers, the Jeep Grand Commander gets relatively flat rear lights that are visually connected this time. From now on we read the model name centrally on the bottom. Of course, new bumper work cannot be missed here either.
The Jeep Grand Commander, along with the plug-in hybrid versions of the Renegade and Compass, was one of the first Jeep models to be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. In the Grand Commander, that powertrain is 230 hp. The Grand Commander also comes with a regular blown 2.0 petrol engine that is good for 234 hp and also has a 265 hp variant.
