Facelift gives Peugeot 3008 a new family look

Peugeot has put the 3008 on the updating table and has done a lot of cosmetic updating. As the first existing model, the 3008 Peugeots gets a new family face with the ‘tusks’ as daytime running lights.

Although the Peugeot 3008 may still feel quite fresh, the SUV has been running since 2016. This means it is halfway through its life cycle. According to Peugeot, this is the perfect time to provide the 3008 with a radical facelift. As the first model in Peugeot’s existing range, the SUV is introduced to Peugeot’s new design style. The brand used this style until now only on completely new models and launched those design lines with the 508. The 208 and larger 2008 followed after that. The big feature is the sharper nose with the upright light units that are reminiscent of tusks. The revised 3008 proves that Peugeot is also implementing these new lines in facelifts of existing types. The headlights of the current 3008 were also overhauled and had to make way for these new ones. The grille is considerably larger and fans out, as it were, with loose ‘cuts’ from under the headlights. The design of the grille is, just like in the 2008, determined by chrome-plated droplets that get wider from the center. Add to that the new 3008 model designation just under the hood and a modified bumper and you have the modified front of the 3008.

Rear end

At the rear, the appearance remains quite familiar despite renewed taillights, because in that area the 3008 was already well in step with the latest models. By this we mean the wide black continuous bar in which the rear lights are incorporated. The new rear lights are characterized by a modified layout of the three separate light bars that already adorned on both sides. Previously these consisted of thicker light bars, now each light bar consists of three narrow LED strips. The interior now features a brand new 10-inch infotainment screen, on which Android Auto and Apple CarpPlay can also be called up. The digital instruments have also been overhauled and look a bit tighter again and must be arranged more according to your own taste.

engines

On a technical level, Peugeot talks about lower CO2 emissions for the plug-in hybrids (225 hp and 300 hp), so that will benefit the sales price. The 225 hp version sticks to front-wheel drive, the 300 hp variant remains four-wheel drive as standard. The on-board charger has a charging capacity of 3.7 kW, but 7.4 kW (1-phase) is also available as an option. With the latter, the battery must be fully charged in an hour and 45 minutes, after which you can travel about 60 km fully electrically. Furthermore, the three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech (130 hp) and four-cylinder 1.6 PureTech (180 hp) remain on the international engine list, as does the 1.5 BlueHDi 130.

Specific information for the Dutch market, as well as prices, are not yet known at the time of writing.
