Also other variants facelifted

The Porsche Taycan will be on the market for four years next year, so it is undergoing a facelift. Not only that, because there is also a 1,000+ horsepower variant with three electric motors and a focus on track use. This is evident from the work of our spy photographer, who found partly packed copies of both the sedan and station variant of the Taycan near and on the Nürburgring.
Until now we hadn’t heard of the arrival of a Porsche Taycan with track focus, but it seems to be coming. Porsche will undoubtedly want to shatter its own record at the Nürburgring. Our spy photographer shot plates of a packed prototype in Germany, complete with roll cage and oversized rear spoiler. We will not see the roll cage on the production version, but that applies to the lip under the large spoiler and the undoubtedly sportier designed and now wrapped front bumper. Furthermore, we see partly wrapped headlights on the covered car, which are already naked on the spotted ‘regular’ Taycans, also in the photos. More on that later in the text.
The biggest news from the spoiler Taycan is expected to be under the skin. This should be the deadly competitor of the Tesla Model S Plaid. That is why the extra hot Taycan will in all likelihood – according to the latest, well-founded rumors – be fitted with a third electric motor, good for a total power of more than 1,000 hp. After all, you don’t just keep up with a Model S Plaid.
More aero in the front and rear and a roll cage: 1,000+ horsepower is serious business.
Also facelift for ‘regular’ Taycan
Then the regular models, which also rolled by. Although the Porsche Taycan station wagons – in Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo flavors – came to market later than the Taycan sedan, we expect that the facelift that is now in the pipeline for that model will be implemented simultaneously on all body styles. The facelifted Porsche Taycan, which we now see for the first time, will probably replace the original version in the second half of next year. It seems that the facelift for the exterior of the regular Taycans has little new in store. Not for the sedan and the Sport Turismo, anyway. The Cross Turismo is hiding for a while and has not yet appeared in front of the lens.
We see virtually no changes on the sides of the Taycan. It seems that after the facelift there will be a strip sprayed in the color of the coach on the sills, although that could also be part of the camouflage. At the rear of the sedan, part of the bumper has been taped, which indicates new lines that are already in the stable. The rear light units have also been partially made unrecognizable, although we do not see any clear differences with the current ones. However, a change is to be expected.
The headlight housing now runs at an angle.
New shape for the headlights
At the front we find the ‘biggest’ news, which seems the same for both variants. For example, they both get a new bumper design, which is still wrapped up, and the Taycan headlights will soon have a new shape. They are now more or less rounded on both sides, but will soon be more pointed on the insides.
This seems to be done for the regular facelift Taycan in terms of appearance. We also expect subcutaneous changes and are perhaps even more important, because EV technology is developing at lightning speed. Expect, among other things, a greater driving range. In addition – it will of course remain a Porsche – some additional versions of the Taycan will possibly come on the market, including at least a variant of the more track-oriented, three-engine copy.
