€0.30 per kWh

Luxembourg is an interesting stopover for Dutch holidaymakers due to considerably lower fuel prices. Even in the EV era, Luxembourg seems to be an interesting place to fill up your electric car. Fast charging costs less than half of what it costs in the Netherlands.
Shell Recharge has lowered the charging rates in Luxembourg. And in a very special way. Shell Recharge charges the same price per kWh for AC and DC charging. Just like AC charging, fast charging costs only €0.30 per kWh. By way of comparison: in the Netherlands, a fast charger in the Shell Recharge network costs €0.65 per kWh. This means that fast charging at Shell Recharge in Luxembourg costs less than half of what it costs in the Netherlands.
Shell Recharge says in Luxembourg that it has chosen to equalize the AC and DC rates in order to make prices more transparent and clear. The government of Luxembourg will give a discount on the energy price at public charging points until the end of 2023. This explains, among other things, the low kWh price at Shell Recharge in Luxembourg.
