Fastned and Tesla open largest fast charging station in Germany

The Dutch fast charging company Fastned will open the largest fast charging station in Germany together with Tesla on Thursday. According to a spokeswoman for Fastned, this is a unique collaboration.

The two parties were both asked by site operator Seed & Greet to install fast chargers at the Ladepark Kreuz Hilden. “This is how it came about,” explains the spokeswoman. According to her, this joining of forces does not mean that Fastned and Tesla will act as partners more often.

Ladepark Kreuz Hilden is located near Düsseldorf, near the junction between the A3 and A46 motorways. Fastned supplied eight fast charging points, Tesla installed twenty of its own ‘superchargers’. The chargers of the Americans can only be used by Tesla drivers. There is also a catering facility on the site.

The listed Fastned has been working on a European network of a thousand fast charging stations for some time. To date, the company has approximately 125 in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and Belgium.
