Turnover doubled

Fastned, known for the fast charging stations along the highway, saw the number of charging sessions grow considerably in the first half of this year. Turnover has also doubled compared to the same period last year.
The number of charging sessions at Fastned grew by 86 percent to 1.7 million in the first half of the year. The company owed this, among other things, to the increase in the number of electric cars on the road. In addition, Fastned opened a relatively large number of stations in the months January through June. Total revenues amounted to more than €26 million, an increase of 108 percent. Below the line, Fastned still wrote red figures, namely a loss of €10.3 million. That was less than the €11.4 million of a year ago.
Fastned opened 28 new charging stations until the end of June this year, bringing the total to 272 across six countries. As a result, the number of fast chargers increased by 259 to 1,500, with an average of 5.5 fast charging points per station. Last year, that number was 5.1. Users of the points also have to wait less and less time for their car to be charged. Fastned attributes this to the fact that there are more cars with faster batteries, in combination with fast chargers and more charging stations.
Fastned expects to have around 500,000 fast chargers by 2030, spread over thousands of locations. With this, Fastned wants to be able to provide its services to more than 44 million customers.
