FCA and PSA have date for merger into Stellantis

Fiat Chrysler and Groupe PSA will soon continue together under one name, Stellantis. According to the current schedule, the formation of that group will become reality in January.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Groupe PSA have a date for closing the merger. A meeting of all shareholders of both groups will take place on 4 January 2021. The purpose of that meeting is to put the last check mark on the formation of Stellantis. When the light turns green, Stellantis will be a fact that day (or somewhere shortly afterwards). With the merger of the two car giants, they form the fourth largest car group in the world. Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Fiat and Alfa Romeo will then fall under the same parent company. Only Toyota, Volkswagen Group and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance are even bigger.

Earlier it was announced what the board of Stellantis will look like. At the very top we find John Elkann (FCA) as chairman of the board. Robert Peugeot (PSA) sits next to him as vice-chairman. Both Elkann and Peugeot are heirs to the families that founded the brands that started it all; Fiat and Peugeot. They are also currently the chairmen of the groups that still operate separately. Carlos Tavares, currently CEO of Groupe PSA, will become CEO of Stellantis.
