Dutch car sales climbed out of the red in February for the first time in more than six months. Kia’s Picanto went on sale with 2,500 units sold, but in this article we focus on the cars that operate at the other end of the success spectrum, where exactly 2,499 units have been sold less than the absolute number one.
Kia’s always popular Picanto managed to knock its often even better-selling brother Niro off the sales throne in February. In February, no fewer than 2,500 new Picantos were registered, a number that other models can only dream of. Of course there are cars of which not a single copy has been sold, just as there are models of which only a few have been registered. In this article we focus on the loner, models that operated in the absolute margins of the automobile existence with a single unit sold in February.
Of course, it should come as no surprise that among the models of which only one new copy was registered in February, there are exotics such as the Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari SF90, Mercedes-AMG GT and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Yet there are also less exclusive cars, of which only one copy left the showrooms in February. Two of them stand out because of their fully electric powertrain and the still available SEPP subsidy: the Honda E and the Mazda MX-30. Coincidentally, these are both somewhat stubbornly designed EVs with a not too large range.
The electric Jaguar I-Pace also managed to attract only one buyer to the showroom in February. An outlier at the other end of the spectrum: the Toyota Land Cruiser! That is not the only Toyota that managed to conquer the heart of a few in February, one Supra was also sold. We will stay in the Japanese corner for a while, because the Lexus LC and Subaru XV also managed to win only one customer. We can only applaud the new owners of the list below of not exactly obvious models. Go for what makes you happy!
