We dive into the huge range of new games in the App Store and pick out the gems. These are the best iOS games of February 2019.
Best iOS Games February 2019
This month we choose a number of games that look old-fashioned, but each give a nice twist to their genre. Such as platformer Typoman Mobile, which plays with words in a unique way. Or Noa Noa!, who puts a Tamagotchi on your iPhone with more possibilities than ever.
1. Typoman Mobile
Typoman Mobile is a platform game that is all about letters and words. By placing letters together and forming words, you activate things in the world that allow your doll to continue. For example, the simplest puzzle is rolling from an O to an N, triggering a sliding platform. This concept is continuously expanded with more difficult puzzles. The result is a super original and fun game. Please note: knowledge of the English language is a must!
2. Immortal Rogue
With all those roguelikes in the App Store you have to be special to stand out and Immortal Rogue certainly is. In this game you are a vampire who can survive for hundreds of years and influence the world with his actions. You are presented with dilemmas and choose which side to fight on.
The game stands out mainly for its gameplay. You walk by swiping and attack by tapping. That starts simple, but due to upgrades, new weapons and mainly a pile of challenging enemies, it quickly becomes very exciting. Add to that a number of blood-curdling boss fights, and you have an excellent game that also looks very cool.
3. Noah Noah!
Noah Noah! put an extremely elaborate Tamagotchi on your iPhone. That doesn’t mean you get a modern 3D animal to care for, but that a device actually appears on the screen that really looks like an old-fashioned Tamagotchi. However, the options are a lot more interesting than before. Besides food, washing and sleeping, you can visit an entire village for all kinds of activities. Can you collect all available Noas?
4. Shieldwall Chronicles
Shieldwall Chronicles is a surprisingly comprehensive tactical RPG. You start the game by choosing from a large row of options, six heroes and going out into the world. The fights with your party take place on a turned-based grid, where you use each hero’s special skills to win. By fighting you earn experience and items, which you use to survive in later battles full of deadly monsters. Although the game is playable on an iPhone, we cannot recommend it. Shieldwall Chronicles works best on an iPad. Unfortunately, the game is not really beautiful.
5. Guildmaster Story
We already have enough games in which you have to combine blocks of the same color, but we couldn’t stop playing Guildmaster Story. This is largely due to the writing in the game. After each puzzle you get a dialogue, which tells the story of a spoiled kid who loses everything. There is so much humor in it that you will enjoy going through the levels. The puzzles are also simply fun to play.
