Ferrari ‘LaFerrari successor’ spotted by AutoWeek reader

Ferrari ‘LaFerrari successor’ spotted by AutoWeek reader

For the second time this year, a camouflaged Ferrari appears that almost 1 on 1 appears to be a LaFerrari. However, the camouflaged carriage and license plate give away that there is more to it.

In March of this year, a camouflaged Ferrari LaFerrari was spotted in Germany, which seemed to be the first harbinger of the successor to the LaFerrari. It is not inconceivable that Ferrari will test the powertrain of its new top model with an old coach over it. A so-called ‘mule’. AutoWeek reader Erik Hamminga spotted that same car – at least it seems to be – closer to Ferrari’s headquarters this week. He took these photos at a gas station in Milan. Thanks for sending it, Eric!

If there is a difference between the previous spot and this one, it is that the car has an Italian registration number especially intended for test cars. Other than that, nothing has changed in the meantime, unless we’re overlooking a tiny detail. It does say something about the testing work: apparently that is still at a fairly early stage, although the necessary progress will undoubtedly have been made in the past seven months.

There is still a lot of uncertainty about the successor to the LaFerrari, if that is the car being tested at all here. There is a good chance, because according to the schedule of a few years ago, Ferrari should be working on this model around this time. It will be a part electric car anyway, just like the LaFerrari. The only question is with which power source the electric motor(s) work, again a V12 or now a V8? The SF90 Stradale with its system power of 1,000 hp proves that a hybrid powertrain with the 4.0 V8 as the fuel heart can be very tired. We are curious what Ferrari will conjure up from the top hat, although it will probably take at least until next year before we know.
