While Porsche, Maserati and even Aston Martin and Lamborghini have had an SUV in their range for several years now, Ferrari still has to do without a high-legged sales stunner. But not for long! In this brand-new set of spy photos, the Ferrari Purosangue has been spotted in public for the first time in definitive production form, although the model is still very fanatically in the camouflage patches.

purosangue. That is the name of the first SUV-like that Ferrari will carry. We can reassure you somewhat if you think ‘Ferrari’ and ‘SUV’ go together just as well as ‘Tesla’ and ‘V8’. It seems that the Ferrari Purosangue will become a five-door GT-like more than cars like the Lamborghini Urus.

Previous spy photos of the Ferrari Purosangue already seemed to indicate that the Ferrari announced as an SUV will not be an SUV in the style of cars like the Aston Martin DBX. These photos show a model set a little high, whose body shape is somewhat reminiscent of that of the FF and successor GTC4Lusso. The Purosangue will have a long hood and a strongly sloping roofline that flows into a fairly flat rear window and a straight sloping buttocks. In contrast to the aforementioned FF and GTC4Lusso, the Purosangue will not have two but four conventional doors. Earlier test models of the Purosangue were still optical mixes of the Levante and Roma, but for the first time Ferrari is now sending the Purosangue out in actual production form. The car is also too fanatically covered with camouflage material to say anything meaningful about the concrete implementation of the design.

The Purosangue, Italian for whole blood, will likely get a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a setup similar to the hardware found in the 296 GTB (V6) or SF90s (V8), though Ferrari’s GT will likely also get a mighty V12. The arrival of the Purosangue will undoubtedly lead to a significant increase in Ferrari sales in due course. The Urus and DBX know how to annually boost the sales figures of Lamborghini and Aston Martin respectively.
