Ferrari has almost recovered from the blow of the corona pandemic in the past quarter. The Italian manufacturer was able to use its full production capacity for the first time in the third quarter, after factories were shut down earlier due to the virus outbreak. Partly because of this, the results and the number of deliveries were almost back to the level of before the corona crisis.
The number of cars delivered in the past period was 2,313. That is 6.5 percent less than a year earlier. In the previous quarter, Ferrari delivered half fewer cars on an annual basis.
Sales fell by 3 percent to € 888 million. Ferrari posted a net profit of € 171 million in the third quarter, € 2 million more than last year. The car manufacturer has slightly raised expectations for the whole of 2020. For this year, Ferrari expects a turnover of at least € 3.4 billion and an operating profit of more than € 1.1 billion.
Last year Ferrari delivered more than 10,000 cars for the first time. Topman Louis Camilleri focuses on more expensive models and renewing the range. The brand has made considerable progress with this, because the Cavallino Rampante introduced in recent years include the F8 Tributo & Spider, the Roma, the Portofino, the SF90 Stradale and the 812 GTS. In addition, an SUV is eventually planned, which may be called Purosangue.
