Binotto still believes in it

Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto sees no reason to intervene strongly in his team, despite the occasionally very disappointing performance. The Italian believes that the Formula 1 team can simply be competitive again after the summer.
Ferrari’s Formula 1 team has a very competitive car this year, but various incidents mean that Ferrari is well behind Red Bull in the championship. If it is not reliability problems or crashes, then strategic blunders ensure that the hoped-for top result does not materialize. However, according to Mattia Binotto, there is no reason to sweep the Scuderia: “Nothing needs to change. In my opinion it is always about trust, learning, building, gaining experience and improving skills. When I look at the balance after the first half of the season, there is no reason why we should change,” Binotto said, according to the official Formula 1 website.
Binotto therefore opts for ‘rest in the tent’, instead of a revolution. With the same people at the helm, he believes it should be possible to come out strong after the summer. “Hungary was not good, neither was the race before it, but I have the feeling that there is a lot of potential. I think we just have to understand why (it went wrong, ed.) and get to work with that, so that we can be as competitive could be if we were in 12 races to date.” Binotto also refuses to blame the poor result in Hungary on the tactical choices made there. “We just weren’t fast enough.”
