Spy shots Ferrari

Ferrari is working on a new absolutely sporty top model that will succeed the LaFerrari that has not been produced for several years now. Ferrari’s new hobbyhorse naturally promises to become a true extremist, although the one in these spy photos still looks far from finished.

Currently it is the SF90 Stradale and Spider and the new XX versions thereof that function as sporty top models within the Ferrari ranks, but there is still room even above those up to 1,030 hp mid-engine muscle bundles. Since Enzo successor LaFerrari went out of production in 2018, Ferrari has not had a so-called halomodel more, but the Italians are certainly working on that. In 2017, Ferrari said that the LaFerrari would get a successor ‘in five years at the most’ – so no later than 2022. That is still not there, but the flat hypercar on these spy plates proves that Ferrari is now busy developing a new sporty flagship.

Ferrari’s new sporty top model would internally listen to the code name F250. Anyone who is somewhat shocked by the appearance in these photos shot near Maranello can breathe easy. The wrapped Ferrari on these cars is another so-called mule, a collection of old and new parts that serves as packaging for the new technology that hides under the sheet metal. We see taillights that apparently come from the SF90 Stradale and makeshift air and cooling vents on the sides. However, the silhouette of the car and things like the doors that extend deep into the roof seem to be novelties.

Whether the still nameless Ferrari will get a V12, just like the LaFerrari and the Enzo who previously sat on the Ferrari throne? That is still the question. It is not inconceivable that Ferrari will give the top model a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a V6. It is certain that the Italians pull out all the stops to turn their new top model into a real hypercar.
