The Netherlands scored well in September

While sales of new passenger cars appear to be slowly picking up again, sales of new commercial vehicles remain low. Also in September this year, fewer new company cars were sold than in the same month last year.
ACEA figures show that 105,790 new commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 tons) were registered in September. That was 11.3 percent less than in the same month last year, when almost 120,000 new delivery drivers were registered.
This brings the total number of commercial vehicles that ended up on the asphalt in the European Union in the first nine months of this year to 944,509 units. That sounds like a lot, but it is 21.2 percent less than in the same period last year. Between January and September, 1,199,258 new commercial vehicles were registered last year.
In the Netherlands, 4,849 new delivery vans received a license plate in September, according to the figures. That is only 0.5 percent less than in September last year. If we lump together the first nine months of 2022, then commercial vehicle sales in the Netherlands will lag significantly behind those of last year. This year 44,357 new commercial vehicles have been registered so far, 16.3 percent less than in the same period last year.
