Apple is working on AirPods 4
Apple has launched another series of new products in 2023, but no new AirPods have been released. The AirPods Pro 2 received a small update, with a new charging case that has a USB-C connection. Apple has made no changes at all to the ‘normal’ AirPods. It is therefore expected that the AirPods 4 will appear next year.

Two years ago, the AirPods 3 were released. These earphones had a completely new design, which resembled the design of the AirPods Pro. According to new rumors, Apple is not only re-adjusting the design of the AirPods 4, but also bringing a popular feature from the AirPods Pro to the regular earphones. Apple finally provides the AirPods 4 with noise cancellation.
New feature for the next AirPods
With the first generation of AirPods Pro, Apple introduced noise cancellation (in English noise cancelling). The function filters out annoying background noise, allowing you to hear the sound from the earphones much better. For example, in a busy train, all noise is stopped with noise reduction switched on. A handy feature, for which you were until now limited to the AirPods Pro.
This will change with the AirPods 4, because they are said to be the first ‘normal’ AirPods with noise cancellation. It remains to be seen what this means for the design of the earphones. Noise reduction works best with the silicone attachments, so that annoying ambient noise can be effectively blocked. It is therefore quite possible that these earbuds will also come to the AirPods 4.

So from next year you no longer have to buy AirPods Pro for noise cancellation. That is not the only new feature of the AirPods 4, because the charging case is also getting an update. The case will then have a USB-C connection and will have speakers for the first time. In that case, you can have the new charging case play a sound via ‘Find My’, so that you can find the case again in no time.

In addition, the earphones have a new design. The AirPods 4 will have a more comfortable fit and shorter stems.
