First Aston Martin DB12 yields 1.5 million euros

The privilege of owning the truly first Aston Martin DB12 has been auctioned in Cannes for charity. Not without success: the car yielded €1.5 million.

It’s actually quite a nice idea, such an auction of a first copy. At least, if it concerns the first copy of a new Aston Martin. The new Aston Martin DB12 attracted a lot of attention during the AmfAR Gala Cannes, part of the Cannes International Film Festival. The car raised €1,500,000 for the charity in question – amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research.

The DB12 in question is the first example in the world that the brand actually delivers to a customer. The car is finished in the beautiful Iridescent Emerald green that can also be seen in the factory photos. Of course it is a Launch Edition, but with some unique features. For example, Formula 1 drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso put their signatures on the engine cover plate. Although the regular prices of the Aston Martin DB12 are not yet known, we are counting on around 3 tons given that of the DB11. A lot of money, but a lot less than this first copy.
