Lancia seems to be at the beginning of a revival thanks to the merged company Stellantis. Currently, the brand only supplies the Ypsilon, which is now ready for its umpteenth makeover. What can you buy if you are in the market for a Lancia right now? A look at the used car range yielded these five models.
1. Lancia Ypsilon 1.2 LS (2000) – € 750
Since the Ypsilon was and is by far the most popular Lancia, this second-generation copy should kick off the list. By the way, there are relatively many Ypsilons in the total range. Of the 77 Lancias on the Techzle occasion finder, 44 cars are Ypsilon. The second generation of the hatchback saw the light of day in 1995, the history of the Ypsilon goes back to the Y10 from 1985. Anyway, this copy is from April 2000 and has a 1.2-liter four-cylinder with 60 hp under the hood. Thanks to a top speed of 160 km / h, that block still allows you to lose your driving license on the highway during the day. The chairs are upholstered in beige fabric with a pattern, but could use a cleaning. The dashboard and door panels are also covered in beige fabric, which helps to give the Ypsilon a more luxurious appearance than the Fiat Punto of that time. It is also striking that the windows and mirrors are electrically operated. However, air conditioning is missing, so a holiday to Italy is a less pleasant experience. Whether you will reach the destination at all is another question, but for € 750 you actually have no right to complain.
2. Lancia Lybra 2.0-20V LX (2004) – € 1,450
For just under double what the Ypsilon above should cost, this Lancia Lybra is on the doorstep. The Lybra sits on the platform of the Alfa Romeo 156, but is very different in every other way. Under the hood of this copy is a two-liter five-cylinder with 150 hp. Furthermore, the decoration with its dark blue exterior and beige interior with wood inlay is especially chic. Things like climate control, cruise control and a color screen for the radio are on it. Given its mileage of more than 240,000, this copy seems to be in a neat condition, but here too, the driver’s seat in particular could use a cleaning.
3. Lancia Phedra 3.0 V6 (2003) – € 1,750
The Lybra not spacious enough? Then you can always go for the Phedra. In a way, this full-size MPV was way ahead of its time, because Lancia already worked with Peugeot and Citroën on this model, just as the brand does now under the Stellantis flag. The Phedra – like the Fiat Ulysse – is in fact the same car as the Peugeot 807 and the Citroen C8, but with a different nose and tail design. Furthermore, the interior was on a slightly higher level in terms of use of materials, which is clearly visible in the found example thanks to the leather seats and the Alcantara finish on the dashboard and doors. Under the hood is a 204 hp three-liter V6 that is linked to a four-speed automatic transmission. The Phedra is not really a stripe tractor, but it thunders through to a top speed of 205 km / h. Thanks to the two large ‘captains chairs’ in the second row of seats, the Phedra allows you to go on a comfortable holiday with six people.
4. Lancia Delta 1.4-16V Oro (2008) – € 4,450
The Delta is much more modern than the three models above. In terms of size and shape, it has little to do with the original Delta from the 80s. It shares its platform with the Fiat Bravo, but nevertheless the Lancia has a very recognizable appearance. The wheelbase is also 10 inches longer than the Bravo’s, making the Delta essentially a cross between a hatchback and station wagon. This copy looks neat and the mileage remains within limits at more than 171,000 km. It has a relatively unobtrusive color scheme, but the Alcantara upholstered seats nevertheless provide a luxurious appearance. Under the hood is the 1.4 T-Jet from Fiat, good for 120 hp and 206 Nm of torque. This means 100 km / h on the counter in 9.8 seconds and the Delta is breathless at 195 km / h.
5. Lancia Thesis 3.0-24V V6 Emblema (2002) – € 2,950
If there was a competition for the most iconic Lancia of this century, the Thesis had a good chance of winning it. In fact, it is the last large sedan designed by Lancia itself. The Theme that followed was in fact nothing more than a Chrysler 300 with Lancia badges. This car dates from 2002, has a 215 hp three-liter V6 under the hood and has a particularly elegant composition with its aubergine-colored paint and beige interior. However, the Thesis never became a sales success, which also explains why there are only two for sale in our used car range. For € 2,950, however, there is little more to be desired: seat heating, navigation, climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, it’s all there. Whether it all works or continues to work is another matter, but who does not dare …
