Numerous positive effects are attributed to apple cider vinegar. However, very few of them have been scientifically proven. Rather, they are based on experience. In a foot bath with apple cider vinegar, the vinegar primarily helps you soften the calluses. You can then remove the calluses with a pumice stone or something similar.

According to Netdoktor, apple cider vinegar can also:

  • promote wound healing and inhibit inflammation
  • Relieve itching

  • Kill bacteria and thus counteract sweaty feet
  • may also help against foot and nail fungus
  • Promote blood circulation and revitalize tired feet
  • Due to the high potassium content, it can help with swollen legs (potassium has a dehydrating effect)

You can do a foot bath with apple cider vinegar yourself in just a few steps:

  1. First mix around 150 milliliters of apple cider vinegar with five liters of water. It’s best to use a small, shallow tub for this. The water should be pleasantly cool to lukewarm.
  2. If you want, you can add about 75 grams of salt. Salt is said to support the effect of an apple cider vinegar foot bath as it binds sweat and kills bacteria.
  3. Adjust the amounts if necessary if you need more or less water for your foot bath.
  4. Leave your feet in the foot bath for at least 20 minutes. This is how apple cider vinegar can develop its effect.
  5. Do not use the apple cider vinegar foot bath more than twice a week to avoid putting too much strain on your feet.
