Ford has started construction in Tennessee on ‘Blue Oval City’, a new factory where mainly electric cars will come off the production line. It is the largest Ford factory ever.
‘Blue Oval City’, the name says it all. Named after the famous Ford logo, this “factory town” is set to rise in western Tennessee, about an hour northeast of Memphis. There, a complex will be built on 1,550 hectares that can call itself the largest Ford factory in the 119-year history of the American brand. The factory was previously announced and is part of a multi-billion investment in electric cars. Ford likes to point out that it is the second (guess…) largest American EV builder and would like to at least maintain that position.
