Thick power spurt, external decoration

Ford Bronco Raptor gets stronger Velociraptor 500

The already not too tender Ford Bronco Raptor has been busted by Hennessey Performance. The American tuner mainly worked under the hood and that led to a considerable power spurt for the 3.0 V6.

When you think of Velociraptor, you might think of a reptile from the Jurassic Park movies, but in the car world it equates to fierce off-roaders with the signature of Hennessey Performance. For example, last year we were introduced to a Ford F-150 with four wheels that can wear the Velociraptor badge, recently another one with six wheels appeared. That Hennessey also likes to focus on the Ford Bronco in addition to the F-150, was already apparent last year. Then it hung a no less than 750 hp strong V8 in the Bronco and renamed it V8 Velociraptor. The now presented Velociraptor 500 Bronco is a bit milder.

As the name implies, this Bronco has 500 American horsepower to play with. That is less than the V8 Velociraptor, but almost 20 percent more than the Bronco Raptor on which it is based, normally supplies power. The maximum torque that the 3.0 V6 mobilizes is now 745 Nm. That is an increase of almost 150 Nm. Hennessey managed to do this by giving the six-cylinder engine more oxygen through improved air intakes, but also through a new hefty intercooler and modified engine management.

The eye also wants something, so Hennessey has developed special 10-spoke off-road wheels for the Velociraptor 500 Bronco and special stickers are also available for the sides. In the interior you will find headrests with Hennessey logos on the headrests, floor mats that can withstand the most severe conditions and a ‘unique plaque’, the latter probably to indicate which model number of the Velociraptor 500 it is. The whole fun package is not exactly cheap: converted in the US you pay more than €33,000 for the Velociraptor 500 Bronco. Mind you, that does not include the Ford Bronco Raptor that serves as the base. swallow.
