Ford Bronco Raptor not for Europe? Manhart fixes it

Ford will also deliver its Bronco in Europe, but the extra heavy Raptor variant will not be sold here. Do you still want a Bronco with around 400 hp? Then you can turn to Manhart for the BC 400, of which the German tuner makes ten.

The German Manhart has been very diverse in recent years. It recently grabbed a Lancia Delta by the scraps and put an Alpina engine in a BMW M3, it now shifts its attention to a modern Ford product: the Bronco. That model has been on the market in the United States for a while, but will also be on sale in Europe in the not too distant future. On our continent, however, it will not be available as an extra potent Raptor, a 405 hp variant with a 3-liter engine. European Ford customers can only buy the Bronco with a 2.7-liter and 335 hp strong block.

Is that disappointing? We leave that in the middle, but we can report that Manhart has a solution for the ‘lack’ of power of the 2.7 block. The German tuner pumps that up to 421 hp and 680 Nm of torque, thanks to new ones down pipes, a different exhaust path and adapted cooling. Manhart indicates that an important part of its clientele resides in the Middle East, which is why it made the cooling of the BC 400 – as the creation is called – a priority.

With the exterior of the car, however, the Germans were remarkably subtle, especially since they usually like a bit of attention in the Middle East. Although the creation is bright yellow, it does not have such sturdy wheel arch edges or off-road accessories as Ford’s own Raptor. However, it is on 22-inch light metal, behind which Manhart mounted larger brakes. Does the BC 400 appeal to you? Then you probably have to be quick; Manhart says to make ten copies of the car.

The 22-inch wheels are also part of Manhart’s BC 400 package.
