“Ford confirms arrival of pick-up under the Ranger”

Ford has reportedly informed its US dealers about the arrival of a smaller pickup truck under the Ranger. This new model will have a very tough job on the home market.

According to Automotive News, Ford has informed some of its largest brand dealers that a small pick-up will eventually be placed in their showroom. The car is said to have been shown and according to a number of attendees, Ford has indicated that the starting price will be below $ 20,000. The still nameless pickup is therefore at the very bottom of the ranking of the pickup offer from Ford, still under the Ranger.

The newcomer, which we probably already saw a year ago pass by, gets a heavy task. Ford puts a line through Fiesta, Focus and Fusion in its home country. In the long run it therefore no longer delivers regular hatchbacks or sedans; only pick-ups, SUVs and sporty cars like the Mustang and GT. This new pick-up is therefore in all likelihood the most affordable passenger car of the brand.

The popularity of pick-ups in the United States seems infinite, so Ford hopes that this model will give it an extra boost. With the F150, it already has the most sold car in its home country and there is a good chance that even a smaller pick-up will find a good deal. In South America, for example, it has been a golden market for years. Also Hyundai, which, due to its own success, has partly caused Ford and GM to take their hatchbacks and sedans off the market, is likely to step in with a smaller pick-up. It appeared camouflaged last month.
