Five-person, range not yet known
Ford pulls the curtain on the all-new E-Tourneo Courier, the brand’s most compact electric passenger car to date. The Ford E-Tourneo Courier can accommodate five people and you can store your luggage in various places.
Last month, Ford pulled the curtain on the latest generation of its smallest van: the Ford Transit Courier. As expected, there will also be a Tourneo passenger version and we see it here, the brand new and fully electric Ford E-Tourneo Courier.
In general terms, the E-Tourneo Courier naturally resembles the E-Transit Courier, but Ford has made a point to not just present the latter as a van transformed into a passenger car. This is ensured, for example, by the black-painted window frames and the contrasting roof colour. We also see the E-Tourneo Courier here with roof racks, there is a kind of skid plate at the bottom of the front and rear bumper and it has dark plastic trim around the wheel arch edges. All in all, the E-Tourneo Courier looks a bit more ‘dressed up’ than the E-Transit Courier.

In the interior of the Ford E-Tourneo Courier it looks, even more than on the outside, familiar from the E-Transit Courier. We also see a dashboard that in some places shows some similarities with the cockpits of the Fiesta and Puma. Like its delivery brother, the Ford E-Tourneo Courier has a large panel on the dashboard as standard with a 12-inch digital instrument panel and an equally large infotainment screen on which Sync4 runs and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay also work.
The second row of seats can accommodate three people on a bench that folds down in a 60:40 ratio. Ford does not yet report how much luggage space is available behind it, whether or not with the bench folded down. It would be 44 percent more than in the previous Tourneo Courier, so we end up with about 1,000 liters with the seat up, but don’t pin us down on that. In any case, there are also extra storage compartments in numerous places, including (and that is of course new for the Tourneo Courier) under the hood. There’s one frank where 44 liters of space can be used.

Technical secrets
After all, you will not find a fuel engine under the hood and the question is whether the Tourneo Courier will be available with fuel engines here at all or whether it will remain with this E-Tourneo Courier. What-he can? Just like with the E-Transit Courier, Ford is still somewhat mysterious about this, probably because the two share their base with the upcoming electric Ford Puma and Ford only wants to reveal all the secrets then. It is known that here too a 136 hp electric motor provides the drive, you can recharge 87 km of range in 10 minutes and it should be possible to go from 10 to 80 percent full charge in less than 35 minutes. The Ford E-Tourneo Courier will go into production in the second half of next year and will arrive at the Dutch dealer that same year.
